Q: What type of nannies do you provide?

A: We find educated live-in and live-out, American nannies from throughout the United States. We only provide the most qualified and professional nannies to our families that are looking.

Q: What living accommodations must I provide for my nanny?

A: The nanny must have 7 day live-in accommodations including her own bedroom and bathroom.

Q: How do you find your nannies?

A: We are a fully staffed Nanny Referral agency and employ full-time professional recruiters who search the nation to find the most qualified child caregivers. We look for career nannies, college graduates with education degrees or degrees in a child related field, governesses, as well as empty nesters and mother’s helpers.

Q: How do I know that the nannies you provide are properly screened?

A: The Nanny Authority provides the most thorough nanny screening process in the nanny placement industry. We speak directly with each reference. When looking for nannies, we perform criminal and driving background checks as well as social security verification and national sex offender screening.

Q: How long does it take to find the right nanny?

A: When looking for a nanny, it is best to give yourself 2-3 months advance notice. However, should you require an immediate start, The Nanny Authority has vast resources in the nanny placement field and is always prepared to present you with pre-screened nannies who are available for immediate nanny placement.  The Nanny Authority has access to the most qualified caregivers whether you need a nanny today or three months or even a year from now!

Q: What are the typical duties that I can expect from my nanny?

A: The nanny’s primary responsibility is caring for the children, but she is also required to perform light housekeeping duties in regard to the children, ie, simple meals, laundry for children, straightening up their rooms, driving the children, helping with homework, and some family and household errands.

Q: Should I expect my nanny to do full housekeeping?

A: Only light housekeeping is required of the nanny and focused on the needs of the children - no full housekeeping.

Q: Must I provide a vehicle for my nanny?

A: Yes, families hiring nannies through our nanny placement services are required to provide a vehicle for the nanny if driving is required, although in rare instances, a nanny may bring her own car for personal use.

Q: Is it customary for a family to provide health insurance for their nanny?

A: Although it is not required, we encourage families to contribute towards the nanny's health insurance and many pay for it in full.
